My expertise includes most disciplines of figure skating ( synchronized skating, theater on ice, ice dance, pairs and figure skating).
Development of figure skating techniques
I use video analysis extensively to develop and improve all technical elements in figure skating, (including - but not limited to- jumps, spins and step sequence). I am happy to work under the supervision of your current coaching staff, or independently as a freelance video analyst.
See all details to provide the best coaching
Video training helps athletes and coaches get a better understanding through instant review and feedback. I can compare live performances by doing a simple analysis (drawings, measure etc..), or I can provide advanced analysis through a stromotion picture as seen above. I can also define your jump's style and compare it into my video data base. This database is a collection of all angles, times, length, height, positions useful to understand and optimize a jump.
This service can be integrate during any camp, seminar or workshop setting. My system is really fexible to help you acheive the most out of your skating instruction.
Video coaching for skaters and coaches
A proper training regimen is only one component of a successful skater. Following the best regimen will get you so far. I have found that cleaning up the technique and performing the movements as flawlessly as possible - especially in a sport which requires tremendous precision- is what differentiates the average athlete from the truly elite.
I am now offering remote video analysis and feedback to any technical element.
How does it work? You film your performance and sent it to me in an email. Once I received, I will analyze your video, writing comments on each key-position of the jump, add measurements and drawings. You can consult the review of your jump on a private video platform. Additionally, I can also define the style of your jump and compare it into my video database. In this database, I have recorded thousands of skaters to analyze all angles, times, length, height, body's position useful to understand and optimize a jump.
Competition analysis: Before & After
There are two approches, before and after the competition. Doing a performance analysis combines statistics (data analysis) and visual feedback (video analysis) to enhance performance and improve decision making.
Before: competition simulation
Preparation for competition entails simulation creating competition conditions. Are you ready? Which points require improvement? etc...
Competition analysis / Performance
Then there is the post-competition analysis. After filming videos of competition programs, I can make an advanced analysis of the competition. For example, it is possible to tag all technical elements to do performance tracking over multiple programs. As professional coach, I will make suggestions and help establish new goals for the next competition. My main goal is to use high-level technology to help you achieve your skating / teaching goals.
