A good material for a good video analysis
The iPhone 6 and Ipad Air2 are capable of creating video at 120 and 240 frames per second (fps) respectively and Dartfish express now brings this feature to its own video recorder. While Apple promotes this as slow-motion video creation (120 frames replayed at 30fps=1/4 speed for Express users it means more; each second of video has up to four times the number of frames, giving four times better chance of getting exactly the position you need for your still shots; each frame of video has a shorter exposure so still shots have less motion blur. That's very interesting but it's still difficult to shoot correctly with an iPhone, better with an iPad. We will see the evolution, maybe a with a specific accessory, remoted zoom for example.
I have already mentioned the subject in 'Using video in skating" HD video but this is true in all sports. Surfing the net, I found a video with a good comparative analysis. (The left image) yes. Good voice analysis because the image quality is poor, no detail. Normal, this was done by a smartphone.
When a real video camera is used, the record is much better. This increases the scope of the analysis. Everything is then adjusted on the computer as the picture quality, color, digital zoom .... Sometimes, no huge drawing is required as the images speak for themselves.
